At a time when Indians across the globe are celebrating country's victory in the recently culminated cricket world cup in their own styles, an Allahabadi artist, Rajkumar Chitera, has come forth with a unique idea to pay tribute to legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar, by making a 1500 ft long painting, show casing every aspect of his life.
A Mumbai based jewellery firm presented a gold-plated silver World Cup trophy replica to batting maestro Sachin Tendulkar here today. The replica is made of 4.5 kgs of silver with 60 gm of gold plating.
Sachin Tendulkar has been named Wisden's Leading Cricketer in the World for the first time to mark a phenomenal year in which he became the first player to reach 50 Test hundreds. He is the third successive Indian player to win the coveted award, following Virender Sehwag who took the award in the previous two years.
As humble as ever during the presentation ceremony Sachin passed the credit to other players.
He dedicated this inning to "Indians" who has stood by him in his good or bad times and also made his hunger for more evident by saying that he would want to bat for 50 overs once again and test his fitness level.... guess that hints towards bigger things to come :)
